XPHOZAH®
Common Name:Tenapanor Hydrochloride Tablets
XPHOZAH®(Tenapanor Hydrochloride Tablets)is the world's first phosphate absorption inhibitor that inhibits the intestinal epithelial sodium-hydrogen exchanger 3 and blocks paracellular phosphate absorption to reduce serum phosphorus levels. It is indicated to reduce serum phosphorus in adults with chronic kidney disease (CKD) on dialysis who have an inadequate response to phosphate binders or who are intolerant of any dose of phosphate binder therapy. XPHOZAH® has a novel mechanism of action and can effectively reduce phosphorus levels when used alone or in combination with phosphate binders, increasing the rate of achieving target serum phosphorus levels, significantly reducing the pill burden for patients, improving bowel movements, and demonstrating good long-term safety. XPHOZAH® was approved in mainland China on February 20, 2025, and was approved for the treatment of hyperphosphatemia in Japan and the United States in 2023.
