Fosun Pharma granted two ESG awards for continued efforts in ESG management

Fosun Pharma was granted, among the 70+ nominations, “Recognition on ESG Disclosure” at the ceremony of 2020 Hong Kong ESG Reporting Awards (HERA) on December 8, recognizing Fosun’s efforts and contributions in ESG disclosure. This award is given to companies with outstanding performance in ESG disclosure.


The annual awards recognize excellence in ESG reporting and aim to build trust among companies and stakeholders & shareholders. The award winners have been selected by an independent panel of judges, comprising of experts from different backgrounds including the business community, non-governmental organizations and the academia.


Tony Wong, founder of Alaya Consulting and organizer of HERA, stated: “2020 is a pivotal year for ESG as it has become mainstream. Listed companies have awakened in the face of push and pull forces from regulators, institutional investors and peers. The quality of reports competing for HERA awards reflects that companies are moving beyond compliance and are trying to meet the rising expectations of their stakeholders. Boards that have seen the value in ESG and have taken in the lead in implementing ESG for reasons more than just compliance are now enjoying competitive advantages.”


Announced on the same day, the “2020 China ESG Golden Award” – Sustainable Award of the Year was granted to Fosun Pharma. These awards, organized by Sina Finance, recognize companies and organizations for outstanding contributions to ESG practices in China. There are ten categories of awards in total, Best Environmental (E) Responsibility Award, Best Social (S) Responsibility Award, Best Governance (G) Responsibility Award, Best Responsibility Advancement Award, Sustainable Award for the Year, Best Bank Award for Responsible Investment, Best Securities Company Award for Responsible Investment, Best Insurance Company Award for Responsible Investment, Best Fund Company for Responsible Investment and Best Asset Management Agency for Responsible Investment. A special award was added for the contribution of enterprises to poverty alleviation.
