The signing ceremony of the cooperation on Fosun Pharma-Fosun Community Foundation-CPU Scholarship was held on November 27, 2013. Ms. Zhang Fuzhen, CPC Vice-Secretary of China Pharmaceutical University and Mr. Li Chun, Senior Vice President of Fosun Pharma attended and addressed the ceremony.

To support the pharmaceutical education in colleague and strengthen the cooperation between university and enterprise, Fosun Pharma –Fosun Community Foundation promises to donate 100,000 Yuan each year for successive three years from 2014 to 2016 with total amount of 300,000 Yuan to set up the Fosun Pharma-Fosun Community Foundation-CPU Scholarship which aims to reward outstanding faculty and postgraduate students with scientific research spirit and dedication to the Chinese pharmaceutical industry.

Zhang Fuzhen, CPC Vice-Secretary of China Pharmaceutical University expressed her gratitude to Fosun Pharma-Fosun Community Foundation for their contribution to CPU and the Chinese pharmaceutical industry. "This is the first time when we work together with Fosun Pharma-Fosun Community Foundation to set up the Fosun Pharma-Fosun Community Foundation Scholarship to support the pharmaceutical education in colleague. It will encourage university faculty to innovate in their own fields and educate their students' heart and soul, meanwhile, it will help the development of comprehensive quality and innovation capacity of postgraduate and undergraduate students and help them become qualified high-level pharmaceutical professionals. Fosun Pharma-Fosun Community Foundation Scholarship provides fund support to CPU outstanding faculty and students on education and research, and I believe our faculty and students awarded the scholarship will keep working hard and keep pace with the times to make their contribution to Chinese pharmaceutical industry development and people's health."

Mr. Li Chun, Senior Vice President of Fosun Pharma said: "CPU is the 'Whampoa Military Academy' for Chinese pharmaceutical education and has trained multiple pharmaceutical professionals for the industry. It is the honor of Fosun Pharma to set up the scholarship and support the Chinese pharmaceutical development. The Scholarship marks just the beginning of the cooperation of Fosun Pharma and CPU and we look forward to more cooperation and more contribution to the professional education in CPU."

As a student’s model for setting up a business, Fosun Pharma has been supporting education actively. In 2010, Fosun Pharma launched its “Future Star” Plan as an important part of its strategic development to help those talents to achieve their success and become the star of future. With an initial fund of two million Yuan, the plan started with two projects, the construction of Fuling Future Star Primary School and the Scholarships set up in three medical and pharmaceutical universities including Shenyang Pharmaceutical University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology and West China School of Medicine, Sichuan University. The Plan aims to educate and train professionals for the development of Chinese pharmaceutical industry by creating a good study environment and encouraging students’ desire for knowledge.

Fosun Pharma has also been supporting medical research through industrial associations. In 2010, Fosun Pharma supported Shanghai Genetics Association to hold the “Future Star- Shanghai Genetics Young Forum”. About ten young outstanding geneticists were selected to share their academic thinking through the forum, while 3 Outstanding Report Awards covering 5 outstanding reports and over 10 Poster Awards were also granted. The awarded reports focused on topics such as the genetic study of platiniferous chemotherapy drug used on Chinese patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer.
