Fosun Pharma USA Inc. and MAP International Bring Pain Relief to People All Over the World
New collaboration uses medicines to improve health equity and transform communities
PRINCETON, N.J. — July 8, 2025 — Inspired by a shared commitment to bring better health to families by connecting patients all over the world with the medicine they need most, Fosun Pharma USA Inc. and MAP International have launched a global collaboration to grow access to essential pain relief in underserved communities. Fosun Pharma USA will donate Ketorolac Tromethamine Injection, USP, a critical non-opioid pain reliever, through MAP’s international distribution network serving 300 on-the-ground partners and volunteer medical mission groups.
Together, the two organizations are solving the pain management access gap, especially in areas facing shortages of medicines and limited medical infrastructure. Ketorolac Tromethamine is commonly used for moderate to severe pain and administered in surgical, post-operative and trauma care settings. Its injectable formulation makes it especially valuable in rural clinics, mobile units and emergency response situations.
“Health equity is a human right and when achieved it helps build resilient communities across the globe,” said Jeremy Tatum, President, Fosun Pharma USA – Established Medicines. “MAP International’s mission to bring medicine to all people aligns closely with our belief that high-quality healthcare should be accessible to patients and families, no matter where they live.”
In 2024 alone, MAP delivered over 47 million treatments to 92 countries, providing support for emergency responses, surgical access and essential care for children, families and communities. When communities have access to medicine, there is a more prosperous workforce, larger economic growth, and people live longer, healthier lives.
“Access to pain relief is more than a medical issue. It’s a matter of dignity, healing and humanity,” said Chris Palombo, President and Chief Executive Officer of MAP International. “Fosun Pharma USA’s donation will allow MAP International to serve patients recovering from surgeries, giving birth or surviving disaster—all moments when pain relief is the moral imperative and medical standard. We are grateful to Fosun Pharma USA and all of our generous community of corporate donors for their trust in us and kindness toward others.”
Product donations like this one represent a powerful solution to both pharmaceutical waste and global health inequities. By donating medicines within their safe and effective usage period, Fosun Pharma USA is turning surplus inventory into high-impact care. These contributions are especially meaningful in humanitarian settings where patients often suffer without any form of adequate pain management.
“When you connect the right companies with the right purpose, you get results that truly matter,” added Tatum. “Together with MAP, we are transforming what would be discarded into a resource that relieves suffering, supports healing and restores hope.”
This marks the first step in a long-term collaboration between Fosun Pharma USA and MAP International, with a shared vision to improve health and opportunity for families around the world.
