Supported by the Wenzhoumunicipal government,WenzhouTCMHospitaland Shanghai Fosun Pharmaceutical Group join hands to restructure and reorganize the Dashimen Branch ofWenzhouTCMHospitaland establishWenzhouGeriatricsHospital, the first cooperation project of establishing a hospital with diversified ownership inZhejiangprovince. It will further encourage and guide social capital to provide medical service, promote the reform of public hospital and meet diversified needs of patients.

On the morning of June 6,WenzhouGeriatricsHospitalholds an opening ceremony. Those who attend the ceremony are department leaders including Zhuo Gaozhu, deputy director of the Wenzhou Municipal People's Congress, Zheng Chaoyang, deputy mayor of Wenzhou Municipal People's Government, Xia Kedong, vice chairman of the Municipal CPPCC, and Cheng Jinguo, director of Wenzhou Health and Family Planning Commission and relevant leaders like Huang Jianping, Dean of Wenzhou Hospital of Chinese Medicine Hospital, Chen Qiyu, president of Fosun Pharmaceutical Group, Chen Yuqing, vice president of Fosun Pharmaceutical Group and senior vice president of Fosun Hospital Investment Group, as well as representatives of some private hospitals in Wenzhou and Wenzhou TCM medical units.

Mr. Chen Qiyu, president of Fosun Pharma, gives a congratulation speech in the ceremony. In his speech, he shows gratitude toWenzhoumunicipal government for their support and help during the construction of the hospital and says that Fosun Pharma will provide a full range of support to the development of the hospital, trying to create a “merit hospital” with good hardware facilities, good doctors and good management, optimize the medical service. The hospital will meet patients’ diverse needs and provide medical higher-quality service to the elderly with a medical innovation mode of “private capital + public hospital”. It’s the basic principle and important content forChina’s in-depth medical health system reform to encourage and guide social capital for the development of medical and health undertakings and formation of a medical system of diversified investment subjects and ways.

In 2015, the population aged 60 and over inWenzhoureached 1.2748 million, accounting for 15.64% in the total population, which madeWenzhourank the second inZhejiang. The elderly are in urgent needs of health care. As the first attempt ofZhejiang’s medical mode of “private capital + public hospital”,WenzhouGeriatricsHospitalis established in accordance with a3A-level geriatrics specialty hospital standard with 500 beds to be available within 5 years. It is also a pilot project jointly established by Fosun Pharma andWenzhou’s medical health system, which shows the diversity of medical patterns.

Wenzhou GeriatricsHospital is opened smoothly. It will take advantages of technical resources ofWenzhouTCMHospitalestablished and maintained by the government with a flexible management mechanism of Fosun Pharma, thus enlivening the state-owned assets and ensuring their preservation and appreciation. Meanwhile, it will optimize service to meet patients’ multi-level and diversified needs and provide the elderly with medical treatment of better quality and higher level. It will also actively help to solve the problem of lacking geriatric specialist medical service and further promote the new medical mode of “private capital + public hospital”.
