As a pioneer and practitioner of the Pudong development , Zhangjiang Hi-tech Park embraced its 20th anniversary on July 28. On the day, the Park held “20th Anniversary Celebration of Shanghai Zhangjiang Hi-tech Park and Opening Ceremony of the 8th Technological Culture Festival. Yu Zhengsheng, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Party Secretary of Shanghai Committee of the CPC, Wang Gang, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of CPPCC and Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and Han Zheng, Vice Party Secretary of Shanghai Committee of the CPC and Mayor of Shanghai sent congratulatory messages. Xu Lin, Member of the Standing Committee of Shanghai Municipal Party Committee and Party Secretary of Pudong New District Committee of the CPC, Shen Xiaoming, Vice Mayor of Shanghai, Jiang Liang, Vice Chairman of Shanghai Committee of CPPCC and Governor of Pudong New District and other leaders attended the celebration. Chen Qiyu, Chairman of Fosun Pharma, was invited to attend the activity.

As of 2011, total operation revenue of the park reached 370 billion RMB with an industrial output of 174 billion RMB and tax revenue of 16 billion RMB,  making the Park an inseparable growth polar for Pudong. The Park has attracted multiple forces, including a “national team” represented by Shanghai Pudong Science and Technology Park of China Academy of Science and Commercial Airplane Research Institute, an “international camp” represented by IBM, HP and Novartis, “local companies” represented by Fosun Pharmaand SNDA, and a “team of overseas students” represented by Spreadtrum and Wicresoft and formed a trend of mutual improvement, accelerated concentration and integrated development. Focusing on information technology, biological pharmacy, cultural innovations and low-carbon new energy, the Park spreads its business in advanced manufacturing, medical services, modern agriculture, scientific technology and finance, improves and solidifies the “4+4” system to become a leader in developing the high-tech industry.
