On 3 November 2014, the fifth session of member representatives meeting of China Medical Pharmaceutical Material Association was convened in Bangkok, Thailand. Among those present were Dou Xizhao, former Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Secretary of Commission of an organ directly under Ministry of Health, Xu Ping, Deputy Secretary of China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing, and over 600 Association members.

The meeting elected a new management team for the new session of China Medical Pharmaceutical Material Association, where Chen Qiyu, Chairman of Fosun Pharma was elected as the President, Liu Zhongliang, Deputy Managing President and Secretary General of China Medical Pharmaceutical Material Association, was elected as Executive President and Secretary General, and other 35 members including Ma Xinying, Xu Yuping, Liu Yashu were elected as Deputy Presidents.

The meeting heard and reviewed the Work Report and Financial Work Report on the 4th Session of the Association, and later presented The Methods for the Election of the 5th Council of China Medical Pharmaceutical Material Association which were duly reviewed and passed during the meeting.

Speaking at the conference as the newly elected President, Chen Qiyu extended his gratitude to members and friends for their strong support, and said he would take on the heavy responsibilities as the new President. He believes that, under the right leadership of and guidelines from related national ministries and commissions, with the support and collaboration of Vice Presidents and all of the Members, China Medical Pharmaceutical Material Association will definitely witness new changes and growth. Meanwhile, he expressed that, we need to gather more talents, integrate different factors and promote the team’s competencies to practically build a renowned Association with influence and appeal in the industry and group cohesion.

Led by the new leading group, with the efforts made by all of the Association’s members, China Medical Pharmaceutical Material Association will better boost the healthy development of pharmaceutical enterprises and propel the continuous growth of China’s pharmaceutical industry.
