On Oct. 22nd, the “Academician Expert Workstation” declared by Shanghai Fosun Pharmaceutical (Group) Co., Ltd. (“Fosun Pharma”) was certified by Shanghai Academician Expert Workstation Guidance Office and authorized to be unveiled by Putuo Government.
The “Academician Expert Workstation” is an important initiative by China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) which is aimed to improve the capability of independent innovation, construct an innovative country and to build a great innovative science and technology talent team; it is also a pioneering work to serve economic and social development as well as enterprise technology innovation.

The Vice Chairman of Shanghai Association for Science & Technology Li Hongming, the Vice Mayor of Putuo District Zhu Yongquan, the Deputy Secretary of Putuo District Committee Xie Jiangang, the leaders and experts of the “Academician Expert Workstation”, entrepreneur representatives and people in charge of related sectors of city and municipal governments were present in the unveiling ceremony. Mr. Shaoying, the Vice President & the Head of R&D Institute of Shanghai Fosun Pharmaceutical Industry Development Co., Ltd. attended the ceremony upon invitation. Other three unveiling enterprises in Putuo District included Shanghai Research Institute of Chemical Industry (SRICI), Shanghai Lianye Agricultural Science and Technology Co., Ltd., and Shanghai SURREY Hi-Tech INC.

During the ceremony, the leaders awarded certificates to experts hired by the company, including CAE academician, the former Director of Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica (SIMM) Professor Dingjian, the Deputy Director of SIMM Professor Geng Meiyu, the Section Chief of SIMM Enterprise Cooperation and Industrialization Department Professor Lin Liping, and experts invited by other companies. It is learned that there are 3 academicians and 15 experts joining in the Academician Expert Workstation.
As an expert representative, academician Dingjian made passionate speech in the ceremony. He pointed out that innovation is an important driving force to national economic development, while enterprise is an important entity of innovation ability improvement; therefore the foundation of the Academician Expert Workstation among enterprises is a fundamental approach to enhance innovation capability. He mentioned in particular that the “Shared Risks and Achievements & Co-owned Patents” cooperative innovation model explored by Fosun Pharma and SIMM in 2012 has obtained very good R&D results, and was highly approved by MST and National Science and Technology Major Project. He will continuously support Fosun Pharma’s Academician Expert Workstation innovation work, and looks forward to making use of the company’s R&D platform and leading S&T personnel to actively carry out the company’s S&T innovation work. By improving R&D efficiency with complementary advantages, it is able to push forward the “Production, Education & Research” alliance of Fosun Pharma and SIMM to much deeper cooperation.
