On the afternoon of August 26 when the 22nd World Cancer Congress in Montreal, Canada, the signing ceremony for establishment of the Cancer Prevention and Treatment Center of Anhui Jimin Cancer Hospital & McGill University was solemnly held in McGill University. Professor Batist, director of the Oncology Department of McGill University, and Professor Liu Aiguo, president of China Anhui Anti-Cancer Association and president of Anhui Jimin Cancer Hospital, signed on behalf of both parties. The ceremony was chaired by Professor Zhang Guangchao, secretary general of Chinese Anti-Cancer Association. Mr. Hao Xishan, the president of Chinese Anti-Cancer Association and an academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, attended the ceremony and unveiled the new "Cancer Prevention and Treatment Center".

McGill University is a Canadian University well-known for educating medical doctors and is a world-class center for clinical treatment and research, which has globally famous oncologists, advanced technologies and specialized training programs. It is at the lead in genetic and molecular cancer treatment and stem cell research, and is often called “Northern Harvard”. Anhui Jimin Cancer Hospital is the largest joint-stock oncology hospital in China, and has numerous well-known experts and specialties. Both parties will work together to make this Cancer Prevention and Treatment Center become a modernized clinical study center integrating cancer medicine, education, research and prevention, which is advanced in Anhui Province, first in China, and in line with the world, thereby allowing the center to be an important oncology base for educating high-level innovative talent, researching new technologies, and producing great results.
After establishment, the Cancer Prevention and Treatment Center will set up the first Remote Consultation Center for Foreign Experts in Anhui Province, to realize the exchange of medical technology by multi-discipline, multi-level complement of superior resources. McGill University will invite one or more experts, professors, Nobel laureates, experts in clinical medicine and health administration, and scholars every year within the following five years to come to Anhui Jimin Cancer Hospital to present lectures and perform cooperation and exchange of diagnosis and treatment technologies. By technical communication and specialist interchange, McGill University will help the hospital drive its specialties such as medical oncology, surgical oncology, radiation oncology and biological cell therapy to reach international levels.
